Description

This model is made by an idea of the Swedish Scania dealer Hachler.
The real Scania-Vabis LB76 was made in the mid 70. They have made the body by there own but the loading crane is made by HIAB and the towing crane is made by Brugg.

The LB76 resin kit is from JC Lescrenier from Belgium. (the resin quality is very good!)
This kit contains a complete kit to build a resin 4x2 truck, it includes the cabin, interior, chassis, engine axels etc. I only have used the cabin, interior, bumper and air tanks the rest of the model comes from the spare box or is scratch build.

The chassis is made of two chassis of the Heller 141 Scania, I also used the axels and the leafsprings of it. The loading platform was made with Italeri parts from the spare box. It contains tools to recover trucks but also tools to do breakdown assistants.

I replaced the resin kit rims for trilex one’s from Italeri with rubber tyres but with the resin Scania hub.

To build the HIAB loading crane I used the EFFER crane of Italeri. I have cut this in parts to rebuild it in mirror image. Then I replaced the oiltank on the chassis ant rebuild the second crane arm just like the HIAB one.

The recover crane was scratch build, the supports at the rear are extendible to raise or lower the crane and the head beam is also extendible. At the rear of the chassis are two supports, they can be lowered when there is extra lifting capacity needed. Above the rear axel is some extra weight to get enough traction when it pulls a truck with pullbar. When it is necessary to winch horizontally it is possible to remove the cable from the crane and lead it trough the traction weight block and along the conduction rolls

(I hope I have used the right words for the explanation)

I have printed the decals at scaleprint; http://www.scaleprint.nl/shop/
