Scania 94L 220 car transporter.

Kit / Model

Scania 164L 580V8

Manufacturer

Italeri

Item Code

3819

Scale

1/24

Description

I have built the model for “van Schoten Auto’s” This is an car sales company in Holland.
This kind of truck is not built in series but it is built under comission.

It's mostly in use for transporting cars very quickly for dealers and lease company’s without loosing mush time by loading and unloading the truck. The truck pulls a small trailer to transport an extra car

To build the model I have used the Scania 164L from Italeri (3819). I have lowered the cab and removed the sleeper part. Inside the cab I made a new floor pan and seats supports. I also changed the door, side, rear and ceiling panels. I used the middle part of the topline roof to made a flat one, the rest of the roof was made from plastic sheet. The body was scratchbuilt and made of plastic sheet and evergreen profiles. The front part of the upper floor can be raised to till the cab. To lower the height of the truck I replaced the wheels for smaller ones.
