Overall, im fairly pleased with the finished model, however I have to admit that it isnt perfect. The roll cage was an awful fit and as you can see from the pics doesnt fit straight at all, this was the result even after I removed it once and 'modified' it. If I had wanted to spend even further time I would have taken the whole thing apart and rebuilt it from scratch but that would have meant far too much work than I wanted to put in (and I also cant to get on with my next project too )

Overall the transkit is an excellent version of an important car in WRC history however I wouldnt recommended a beginner taking it on, there is alot of filling and modifying to do to make it look reasonable, on a plus side teh decals really suprised me and saved a lot of masking and spraying.

The model is based on Tamiya's Celica 2000GTR road going version and Im using the Studio 27 transkit to create the WRC version. There are no plans to open the doors for this one

thanks again to one and all for the kind comments, I'll have more pics of the car on my website over the next week or so...

now onto my first 1/12 scale kit... and a late entry into the Ferrari 60th Anniversary Group build the 1970 312B.

Enough already... here's the pics.

SeanG. I just want to suggest to remove the first part of the roll-cage (dashboard to the center tube behind seats, just the up section), rebuild and then glue it. Probably this help to fix it without remove the entire roll-cage. Good luck with the McRae tribute project!!.

Hi Fabio,

thanks for the comments. To remove the roll cage would take a little while as both sets of seat belts would need to be removed as they run through the cage, the spare wheel would also have to be removed along with the belts.
The cage itself it quite complex and although not impossible would take a lot of work to get right.
As I have other projects that I wanted to start I decided that it looked good enough to leave be... or maybe Im being lasy :-)

thanks again, Sean.

SeanG. How difficult is to remove the roll-cage and rebuild it?.
