FAQs
-What’s Modelersite.net?
A web site devoted to scale models, especially plastic, resin or white metal ones, based on Internet, with the aim of creating a community. No other kind of modelling is allowed such paper models...etc, which have specific websites. Here you may find everything offered in forums, blogs…etc, in a single-web site, administrated by yourself, interacting with other modelers all over the world. Our Modelersite.net is based on the concept of Showrooms.
-I understand what this web site aims at, but what about having a showroom?
The showroom is your Internet showcase. Inside it you’ll be able to upload to Modelersite.net, galleries (up to 10 pictures each subject) of your finished models, projects which are up and running, collection of boxes…etc. These galleries will be organized in such a way to be seen by other modelers. Forums are focused to messages while showrooms at Modelersite.net, to modelers and their models.
-Are pictures the only thing I can upload to my showroom?
Each gallery in your showroom may have pictures and all the text you like. Besides you can exchange comments with other modelers that are seeing your modelers. One new gallery added to your showroom, will appear on Modelersite.net’ s front page. All this can be administrated by you, needing as only requirement to register a new account an identify yourself, then you’ll have on screen administration options
-When looking at Modelersite.net’ s front page, I find that there are galleries about cars, motorcycles…etc but, I’m only interested in airplanes?
Once you get your account registered, you’ll be asked about your preferences, if you choose airplanes, then at the moment of being identified, your preferences will be kept, and on your next visit, you’ll see only airplanes, nevertheless, the menu options will let you enter to other sections of Modelersite.net.
-How can I get a showroom, is this difficult?
No, it’s very easy, just by registering exactly as you use to do in any forum, and your showroom will be created. You’ll be able to have a profile with your data and preferences and once identified as user, you’ll gain access to the administration links from which you’ll start to create the galleries, that will be seen by modelers, who will exchange messages with you. Try to give as much information as you can when creating your profile, true information, in this way you’ll help to keep a healthy community free of spam, getting a better contact with other modelers.
-Once my showroom was created, might I upload any kind of pictures?
We recommend you to use your showroom for modeling purposes, we don’t think it advisable to upload family photos and other sort of material, which is inappropriate for this web site’s aim. The same counts for the texts, they should keep a respectful language, avoiding coarse or crude words. Think that your messages in the galleries will be read by modelers all over the world, and you’ll be showing yourself up. The whole content will be closely monitored and those who fail to comply with this rule, will be banned. Besides this user may be removed and will not be able to use the site, not even changing the user’s name.
-I’d like to get a small tutorial about a model or a review , may I upload it to a gallery in my showroom?
Yes, of course, add the text and pictures to “Add a model to my showroom”, creating a new gallery. If the 10 pictures of a gallery are not enough, then open other under the same title as part II, linking it with the first one.
-Do Modelersite.net offer any other option I could be interested in?
We think so, here we have a forum where you may exchange messages in the usual way as well as offering or buying kits from other modelers. In short, a trade room where to buy or sell models will be opened. Besides at the web site, you’ll find on line every day new techniques, modeling tutorials…etc.
-Is there any mailing list where to sign up in order to receive information about Modelersite.net?
Yes, we have a mailing, find the links in our menu.
-I’d like to get in touch with other user, is it possible?
Of course, each user has a contact to send online mails from Modelersite.net. Emails are kept and monitored to avoid Spam.
-Is there anything else I should know?
All doubts or worries from users will be replied promptly.
