Caterham Super 7 BDR
This is one I finished in 2003. Lots of scratchbuilt parts and machining, but not as much as the blue one. - Mark
Non kit parts were scratchbuilt and/or machined by myself including hundreds of nuts, bolts and fasteners.

The Panasport wheel castings were taken from another Tamiya kit.

Except for 4 decals, (the firewall data plate, the Bosch label on the coil, the decal on top of the oil cooler, and the nose badge), All the decals and graphic images were drawn and printed by the builder.

Some of the scratchbuilt and machined items:


Engine Compartment :

Battery, connectors and hold down.

Distributor & vacuum advance, added wires and boots.

Coil, bracket and condenser.

All fittings and hose clamps.

Radiator caps.

Oil tanks, overflow tanks and oil caps.

Oil pressure and water temperature senders.

Dipstick & bracket.

Cogged crank pulley, water pump pulley, idler/tensioner pulley & mounting hardware.

Alternator fan, pulley and tensioning bracket.

Speedometer housing on transmission.

Master cylinder cap, fittings & hardware.

Electronic ignition box.

Horn relay.

Windshield washer motor and reservoir.

The fuel delivery, including gauge, and linkage system. (72 pieces between the fuel log and air filters were added.)

Exhaust pipe and SuperTrap muffler.


Suspension :

Brake rotors, rear axles and hubs.

Zerk fittings were added to balljoints and control arm bushings.

Brakes lines were fully plumbed with hard and flex lines and fittings including bleeders.

Parking brake rotor & caliper assembly was added to drive shaft and differential.

Shocks were reengineered and delrin bumpers were added.


Interior :

Auto Meter gauges, switches and lights on the reworked dash.

Steering wheel, crush sleeve and turn signal lever.

Piston gear shift knob.

Parking brake lever with rubber grip.

Drilled gas, brake and clutch pedals. (Gas pedal pivot is spring loaded.)

Seat belts. (Note stitching.)

Headrest adjustment knobs and tracked posts.

Adjustable Wink mirror and side rear view wide angle mirror & mounting brackets.

Kenwood in dash CD/stereo.

Polk Audio/Momo speakers in carpeted enclosure and mounting hardware.

Working fuel filler with seal. (Fuel tank is fully plumbed and electrically connected too.)


Other :

"Stamped", reflectorized and tagged license plate, frame & hardware.

3 prong wheel knock offs, valve caps and wheel weights.

Taillights.

Rear Super Seven Badge and mounting hardware.

Spare tire hold down.

All electrical, inside and out, is wired and everything is plumbed.
